The old Battered Guitar


I learnt to play an old battered Guitar to play a song especially for you 


It did not happen for you are now

Gone


I sit here feeling blue


I picked it up as I began to strum 

it

softly until it became a tune 


I placed it back down for 1 could no longer play 

for I was crying for you 

had  gone so soon


These words came into my head 

as I lay me down to sleep

 I look at this old battered guitar 


as I begin to weep

You had gone to soon

 gone to soon
