A Mirage
A Mirage inside
My head
Kept me alive
It gave me strength
To breathe
When I could
Hear nothing
Being said.
Words of love
Words of hope
Tug of war
Pulling my
Heart strings
With a tight rope.
Empty meanings
Filled with dreams
Looking to fulfill
What never seems.
Reaching out
To nothing
There
A light at the
End
Is what I hoped
We would share.
Looking searching
Through thick
Fog
With many wheels
Turning
I was only another
Cog.
Thoughts coming
Jumping out
Through dark
Promises made
Of which they lack
Deep in my soul
I feel nothing but
Space
When I only see a Mirage
With its ugly gaze.

A mirage is a sort of optical illusion, a reflection of light that can trick the mind into interpreting the sight as an apparently solid thing
