Bed

Thoughts of all

I had not said

Flooded my mind

Faster than raindrops

Landing on

My head


Thumping

Heart 

Tears began

To fall

Hearing myself 

Call

I am home

My darling

Come downstairs 

Meet me

At the door


No sound

Of laughter

Or patter of footsteps

On the wooden floor


Closing the door

quietly behind

facing this

Vast empty

Space

A silence waiting

to embrace

Please Help 

me be strong

Make this

Once again 

a happy place
